Come to the FAIR! Conestoga Press will be there along with all kinds of great vendors from letterpress equipment to printed goods and even food! This was a great event last year and proves to be even better this year. It’s held at Building Character at 342 N. Queen Street in Lancaster which is great on its own and houses the .918 club and Heritage Press. The event is on face book here.
First in a series, you can pick up your own copy of the Scrollsaw Dog card at the print shop or in the museum on Saturdays. The card pictures a pattern that appears on a piece of furniture in the museum. Find it and come back for more in the series. Watch here to see when more are available. The cards are printed on our 1920’s Chandler & Price. A limited number were printed and while new cards with new items will be printed this one will not be reprinted.
Saturday, June 14, 2014 10AM – 4PM / FREE ADMISSION!

Members of the .918 Club in Lancaster gathered Wednesday evening, April 30th to view the special Harry Stauffer exhibit, the rest of the museum, the library, and still found some time to print on the Bronstrup Press. If they had as much fun as we did they considered the meet a success. Press volunteers, Jeff, Isaac, and myself (Randy) were on hand to guide them and share the evening.
Lots of folks showed up at the annual tea at the Historical Society today. We had many visitors to the print shop where we printed a commemorative Harry Stauffer bookmark. Harry was the one who donated much of the material in the print shop and he did a lot to preserve the history of printing in the area. There’s a special display on him and his many other historical pursuits in the museum through the coming year.
Our annual Christmas Cards are now available on a very limited basis. They can be purchased at the Historical Society Library and in the print shop for $12.00 for a pack of 10 or for $1.50 each. The photo on the front was graciously provided by photographer, Donald Reese. The greeting inside is from a 1920 Christmas card printed by Harry F. Stauffer, founder of the Conestoga Press and subject of the last two Journals of the Society and an upcoming special exhibit.

The Print Shop Committee traveled to the Heritage Press Museum in Lancaster on Sunday for a very nice event. Jeff rekindled some acquaintances with fellow .918 club members and I got to finally see the museum. The event along with the sponsor BUiLDiNG CHARACTER offered demonstrations, food, and letterpress work and equipment. We picked up a few small items that will be helpful in the shop, like a collection of @-signs in different point sizes.
